The day I had been waiting for finally arrived! Today was the Central Texas Warrior Dash. The Warrior Dash is a 5K obstacle course run. It is muddy. Among other obstacles, there were walls and fire to jump over, cargo nets and tall walls to climb up, balance beams, hills, barbed wire, water and mud pits to swim through. It was a blast. This was my first official race to participate in and I was very excited.
Today's moments were extremely significant for me and I will treasure them always. Not only was this my first race, it was also a great test of my strength and stamina, mentally and physically. Although I did not find the race to be particularly difficult, I was able to use it as an opportunity to think about what I would like to do next and where I would like my training to take me. More importantly, I had a great time and tried something new. I challenged myself in ways I never had before. Above all else, I was able to share the day with some really wonderful people. Thank you to all who supported and cheered on the Beyond FIT Beyond Warriors and also to my family and friends who helped me support St. Jude's Children Hospital!
